A senior agent of the Secret Service said on Facebook she would not "take a bullet" for President Donald Trump.

Kerry O'Grady, the special agent in charge of the Denver district, said she would rather face jail than endorse Trump, according to the Washington Examiner.

In a post in October 2016, O'Grady did not mention Trump by name, but was clear in its reference to him, the Examiner said.

"As a public servant for nearly 23 years, I struggle not to violate the Hatch Act. So, I keep quiet and skirt the median. To do otherwise can be a criminal offense for those in my position. Despite the fact that I am expected to take a bullet for both sides . . . but this world has changed, and I have changed. And I would take jail time over a bullet or an endorsement for what I believe to be disaster to this country and the strong and amazing women and minorities who reside here. Hatch Act be damned. I am with Her," O'Grady wrote in the October post, referring to a Clinton campaign slogan.

Sources told the Examiner that O'Grady had written several posts expressing her displeasure with Trump or his associates. At least one of her posts led to a complaint to the office that looks into misbehavior by Secret Service agents.

In her Secret Service role, she coordinates with Washington on trips to the Denver area for the president and vice president, or officials in the Trump administration, the Examiner said.

Responses on Twitter called for O'Grady to be fired or resign, including Huffington Post editor Sam Stein and American Spectator managing editor Melissa McKenzie:
