The Trump administration has nothing to hide concerning Russia, as "this is still a nothing burger," Sebastian Gorka, a deputy assistant to President Donald Trump, insisted Monday morning.

"The bottom line is we have nothing to hide there," Gorka told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program.

"We almost 10 months into this cavalcade, this collusion delusion, and we're just going to press on to make America great again."

Democrats don't have a platform, Gorka continued, and instead, they "keep these spurious myths alive. They are really in the long run irrelevant."

Trump, he continued, is "absolutely right" calling the investigation into Russian collusion a witch hunt.

"Remember, there was no such thing as a witch," Gorka commented. "Witches didn't exist. It's hysteria. On top of that it's a message to everybody who simply cannot get over psychologically can't deal with what happened on Nov. 8. We won the election.

"The president, with less money, with really a tiny fraction of the establishment capabilities that the DNC [Democratic National Committee] had, won an election, trounced Hillary Clinton."

As a result, he said, "those people who do not wish to recognize the legitimate new leader of the most powerful nation in the world, how they create a smoke screen."

Gorka also said Monday that there have been communications with Congress about their plans for a Russian sanctions bill that includes provisions making it difficult for the president to undo the measures.

"It's not ideal yet, but they have made amendments to the draft bill," said Gorka.

"We had serious concerns that there would be very negative consequences for U.S. companies because of their lack in specificity, and also the new sanctions package would have had a damaging effect on the existing multilateral sanctions package that we have put in place with our allies.

"So those issues have been partially addressed, and not all fixed. But we're very happy that the hill is starting to listen to us."

Gorka also praised new communications director Anthony Scaramucci and his promise to discover who is making leaks from the White House.

"Anthony Scaramucci is a serious man," said Gorka. "He gets things done. You cannot represent the president, you cannot represent the national interests of the United States unless certain things are held in confidence."
