Former White House adviser Sebastian Gorka Wednesday accused former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, ex-CIA Director John Brennan, and fired FBI Director James Comey of helping Russian President Vladimir Putin undermine the 2016 presidential election.
"Putin had a very clear objective to undermine America's faith in its own election and its own electoral system," Gorka told Fox News' "Fox & Friends."
"That's exactly what Clapper, Comey, and Brennan did."
In April, the Republican-led House Intelligence Committee released a report on Russian interference in the 2016 election, accusing Clapper of orchestrating the release of an anti-Trump research report and providing “inconsistent testimony” about his contact with the media.
Clapper has denied the claims, but Gorka on Wednesday accused him of lying.
"Clapper admits that he spoke to CNN," said Gorka. "We know that CNN had the dossier. But they needed a so-called news hook to hang it on. What did he do? DNI Clapper told James Comey to brief the dossier to the president."
And after that happened, he said, "Clapper told Jake Tapper at CNN, 'oh, it's briefed' and then CNN had their peg to hang it on. So a dossier that was built on Russian propaganda, we now know that, became a news item thanks to Clapper leaking. And then what happened? After he leaves government, he gets a juicy contract with CNN. This is bogus."
Show co-host Brian Kilmeade also pointed out that Brennan has been posting "inflammatory" tweets, and making statements claiming Putin may have something he can use against the president.
In March, Brennan told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that he thinks Trump is "afraid" of Putin, because "they may have something on him personally to roll out and make his life more difficult."
"This guy is a CIA director," said Kilmeade Wednesday. "He is not some pundit from a third-rate cable show."
Brennan is now a senior national security and intelligence analyst for NBC News.
"This is shocking," said Gorka. "Never in American history has a former civil servant of his ranking done what he just did. Because he says 'I don't know but I think he could be being blackmail. Well, everybody out there who doesn't know the details now potentially thinks the president might be being blackmailed. He is serving Putin's interest."
Gorka also told Kilmeade not to forget that Brennan "in 1976, admitted to voting for the Communist Party candidate for president before he gets hired by the CIA. I guess old habits die hard, don't they, Mr. Brennan?"
"Something that President Trump is doing has rattled him to his core," Kilmeade replied. "Maybe we will find out."
