Sean Spicer: Gary Cohn Was 'Instrumental' on Tax Cuts

Former National Economic Council director Gary Cohn, who resigned earlier this week, was a vital part of the Trump administration, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Friday.

"Gary was a great voice… he's an extremely smart man and I know he worked tirelessly for the president. The tax cuts are largely because of Gary and his team working nonstop to not just sell them, but to implement them and make sure the policy was done right," Spicer said on Fox Business' "Mornings With Maria."

"Gary was instrumental, he played a great role, I think he served not only this president, but the American people very well over the last year," Spicer said.

Spicer, also appearing on Fox News' "Fox & Friends," discussed recent successes in Trump's policies such as positive job numbers amid reports of "chaos" in the White House.

"If chaos gets you 313,000 jobs last month, it gets North Korea to the table, it gets ISIS on the run, border crossings down, the regulatory state dismantled, conservative judges, then I think we're doing pretty dang good," Spicer said.

"I think the Trump policies are taking effect, and Americans are feeling the benefits," Spicer said.

"When you go to the voting booth in November, it's all about what your gut feeling is. Are things getting better, are you feeling good, is your neighbor feeling good, is your family feeling good, and I think the American people realize that this president is delivering, he is getting results," Spicer told "Fox & Friends."
