Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer told a reporter to stop sending him questions via text or email or face legal action, Axios reports.

Mike Allen, who co-founded Axios, said some former Spicer colleagues revealed he took detailed notes during meetings at the Republican National Committee and during the presidential campaign. He reportedly continued to do so at the White House.

Allen reported the notes might prove valuable to special counsel Robert Mueller's ongoing investigation.

Allen claimed he texted Spicer for comment about the notes and received this response:

"Mike, please stop texting/emailing me unsolicited anymore."

Allen then responded with a question mark.

He said Spicer shot back: "Not sure what that means. From a legal standpoint I want to be clear: Do not email or text me again. Should you do again I will report to the appropriate authorities."

A short time later, Allen said Spicer responded to a "polite email" seeking comment: "Please refrain from sending me unsolicited texts and emails. Should you not do so I will contact the appropriate legal authorities to address your harassment."

The Washington Post reported earlier this month that Mueller will seek to interview Spicer, along with some other current and former advisers to President Donald Trump, as part of the investigation into Russia meddling in the 2016 election.
