Predicting the Supreme Court will declare Obamacare unconstitutional, President Donald Trump speculated that the loss will ultimately bring Democrats to the table to work "great healthcare" reform.
"That case from Texas should win in the Supreme Court," Trump told reporters at Wednesday's White House Cabinet meeting.
A lawsuit brought by 20 GOP-led states, and supported by the Trump administration, saw District Judge Reed O'Connor in Texas rule the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional without the now-repealed individual mandate. The mandate was helping fund the ACA, but it was repealed by the GOP-led Congress during the Trump administration.
"We should win at the Supreme Court, where this case will go," Trump said. "When we do, we will sit down with the Democrats and we will come up with great healthcare."
Democratic-led states plan appeal the ruling in Texas and might succeed, which would set up a fight in the Supreme Court.
