President Donald Trump said in a new interview he hopes the Supreme Court strikes down the Affordable Care Act, adding that he'll unveil a replacement proposal after the court makes a decision on the matter.

Trump's team released a portion of the interview on Thursday.

Trump said the Republican plan to replace Obamacare "is developed. It is fully developed. It is going to be announced very soon when we see what happens with Obamacare, which is not good.

"It will be much less expensive than Obamacare, which is a disaster, and it will take care of people with preexisting conditions."

In November after the election, the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments on whether the Affordable Care Act is constitutional. The justices could strike down the law altogether, which would leave millions of Americans without healthcare. Trump said that the GOP has something ready.

"We have to see what happens. It's got a ways to go. We'll see what happens," he said.

"I hope that they end it. It will be so good if they end it because we will come up with a plan."

Stahl then pointed out to Trump that he used the word "will" after he said earlier that the plan was ready.

"Yeah, we will," he said. "We have large sections of it already done and we have already come up with plans."
