Despite being slammed earlier this week by Nevada's powerful Culinary Union, Bernie Sanders appears to be performing well at casino workers' caucus sites on the Las Vegas Strip, winning precincts at the Bellagio and Wynn resorts.

The Vermont independent got 32 county delegates at the Bellagio to former Vice President Joe Biden's 19, reports The New York Times. He also won at the Wynn by 6-3. None of the other candidates were declared as being viable at either of the two sites.

The Culinary Union, which represents casino workers, earlier this week released a scorecard for the candidates' positions on topics such as jobs, immigration and healthcare, pointing out that Sanders' push for "Medicare for All" programs would eliminate its members' healthcare plans.

However, many of the rank-and-file members said this past week that they planned to back Sanders, even if the union's leaders were criticizing him.
