Voters will reject Republican lawmakers if they don't live up to campaign promises, according to Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel.
"I have to bring the grassroots to Washington and tell our legislators, if we don't do the things that we campaigned on, we will see our voters turn their back on us in 2018," McDaniel said Thursday on Fox News' "Fox & Friends."
Voters are happy with President Donald Trump's job performance, and they want legislators to follow up on his plans, the RNC leader said.
"We have to repeal and replace Obamacare. We have to get tax reform. They're very pleased with the president. He's enacted deregulation. He's restored America's standing as a leader in the world. But they need to see Congress act and do the things that we campaigned on," she said.
At another point during her "Fox & Friends" appearance, McDaniel slammed Hillary Clinton for comments about her election loss. "She has no self-awareness," McDaniel said in the interview.
