Romney Enlists Diverse Cast to Carry GOP Message

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney has enlisted a large and diverse group to spread his message across the country, including the usual array of politicians and business leaders, along with athletes, celebrities, Hispanics, and suburban women,
The Washington Post reported.

Politicians on tap for Romney include Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty, former New Hampshire governor John Sununu, and former ambassador John Bolton. Those who will help Romney reach out to women include Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., the Post reported.

Non-political surrogates making the case for Romney include Staples founder Tom Stemberg, who worked with Romney at Bain Capital, actor Jon Voight, NFL player Nick Mangold, comedian Jeff Foxworthy, and singer Kid Rock.

“With certainty being brought into the process the last few months, we’re seeing a flood of people who want to get involved in the campaign,” Kristy Campbell, the campaign’s deputy communications director, told the Post.
