Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry denied front-runner Donald Trump's claim on Thursday that he is getting out of the GOP presidential race.
"The bottom line is I'm still here, I'm still working, and we need to be talking about solutions and not just rhetoric out there," Perry said on Fox News Channel's
"The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson."
Perry was asked about his plans after Trump mentioned his name in a press conference Thursday announcing
he had signed a party loyalty pledge not to run as an independent.
As he listed rivals who have attacked him and subsequently gone down in the polls, Trump said, "Perry attacked me; now he's getting out of the race. He was at 4 or 5 percent, now he's getting out of the race, he was at zero."
Perry has stopped paying some of his campaign staff, but hasn't quit the race.
