Rick Perry, the secretary of Energy, said he has not yet seen an electric grid study that he commissioned, although drafts of the report have leaked online and been discussed since Friday, according to the Washington Examiner.

"There are a lot of folks throwing Jell-O at the wall, folks that say they may have some information that's in the report . . . I haven't seen it yet," Perry said at the National Press Club in Washington, according to the Examiner.

"There are lots of people breathlessly waiting to read that," he added.

The secretary ordered the study to look at Obama-era regulations placed on coal and nuclear power, the "baseload generators" of energy.

Bloomberg reported on Friday that the study concluded that renewables did not threaten the reliability of the energy grid.

"The power system is more reliable today due to better planning, market discipline, and better operating rules and standards," according to a July draft of the study Bloomberg obtained.

"Those statements as written are not in the current draft," Energy Department spokeswoman Shaylyn Hynes said, according to Bloomberg.

Perry said he discussed the possibility of a "new North American energy strategy" with Mexican officials last week, according to The Houston Chronicle.
