Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says she has no interest in being Mitt Romney’s running mate if the former Massachusetts governor wins the Republican nomination for president.
Rice, who served in President George W. Bush’s administration, said during an appearance on “Fox and Friends” on Tuesday that there will be a lot of “great candidates for vice president, and it’s going to be a terrific ticket for the Republican Party, but that’s not my strong suit. I really love policy — not politics — but they’ll find the right person.”
When pressed on the issue, Rice refused to budge.
“I think we should go another direction and find somebody who really wants to be in elected office,” said Rice, who now is the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. “How many ways can I say it? Not me.”
