The Republican National Committee is again backing Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore — reinstating its support hours after President Donald Trump endorsed the scandal-plagued former judge, reports say.

Breitbart News first reported the about-face; The Hill reported it had confirmed the reinstatement.

Officials at the RNC and the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the party's Senate campaign arm, said last month they would not support Moore even though Trump was standing by him.

As allegations from several women first surfaced in The Washington Post, the two GOP campaign groups cut ties with Moore, halting their financial and field support and a chorus of Republican lawmakers called on him to step aside.

The NRSC, according to the Breitbart report, has not reinstated its support for Moore.
