Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation is energizing GOP voters in both Senate and House races, Republican National Committee chair Ronna Romney McDaniel said Sunday.
In an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” the party chairwoman said she’s seeing voter interest around the country — including among suburban women.
The confirmation, she maintained, “is helping across the board in House and Senate races.”
"I’m looking at every race across the country,” she said. “Our job is to turn out our base. Our base is completely energized right now, and the Kavanaugh hearing has just highlighted how important this election is for them."
She said she believes the economic good news “is the driving factor that will help us keep the majority.”
But McDaniel conceded there’s still a gender gap among GOP voters.
“There was in 2016 with women — especially college-educated women,” she said, adding, however, “I've noticed in the past three [rallies for President Donald Trump], more women are showing up than men. We have seen in insurgents of new online donors coming from women and men.
“We have to do our work with women, but Democrats treat women as single issue voters,” she continued. “We treat women as the whole voter. They care about health care, they care about the economy. They recognize a 4 million jobs have come back to this country.”
