Only 56% of those who voted for Democrat Joe Biden said they were voting for him, with 29% saying they were casting a ballot against President Donald Trump, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll.
Another 15% said they were not sure of the reason for their presidential selection.
In contrast, among those who voted for Trump, 90% said they voted for the president, while only 8% said they were making their selection against Biden.
According to the poll, 49% of likely voters said they chose Biden in the presidential election, while 45% picked Trump, and 4% voted for some other candidate.
The survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted between Nov. 5-8. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
