A majority of likely voters said the media has been less aggressive in its questioning of the Biden administration than with the Trump administration, a new poll found.

A Rasmussen Reports survey released Thursday said 55 percent of likely voters thought the news media was less aggressive in questioning President Joe Biden than it had been in questioning former President Donald Trump, per Breitbart.

Only 13 percent of likely voters said the media was more aggressive with Biden. A total of 27 percent believed the media's level of aggressiveness was about the same.

Among Republican likely voters, 77 percent said the media had been less aggressive during Biden's first two weeks in office than with the previous administration.

Only 33 percent of Democrat likely voters felt the media had become less aggressive.

A majority — 55 percent — of likely voters unaffiliated with either major party agreed that the news media had been less aggressive with the Biden administration.

The survey was conducted Feb. 2-3 and had a margin of error of plus/minus 3 percent.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki was criticized during her first two weeks because of her habit of failing to answer basic questions. She often told reporters she would  "circle back."

The Daily Beast this week reported Biden staffers prescreened reporters before press briefings to find out what they planned to ask. It was unclear how many reporters, if any, complied with the inquiries.

White House Correspondents' Association leaders encouraged reporters to either ignore the probing or not to comply, per the report.
