Most American voters think Republicans will win back the White House in November, a new poll shows.

According to a Rasmussen Reports survey released Tuesday, 59 percent of likely voters believe a GOP candidate will win the presidential election; 36 percent think that's unlikely.

The findings mirror a similar survey last April, which found 60 percent of voters thought a GOP president would likely be the next occupant of the White House, the pollster noted.

In other findings:
  • 83 percent of GOP voters think the next president will likely be a Republican, including 43 percent who consider it very likely; 60 percent of Democrats think it's unlikely a GOP candidate will win.
  • 71 percent of Republicans look forward to this year's presidential race; 50 percent of Democrats feel that way – and 44 percent have had enough of the race already.
  • 52 percent of black voters consider a GOP president unlikely, but 62 percent of white voters and 55 percent of other minority voters disagree.
The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
