Sen. Rand Paul's latest hire for his expected 2016 presidential campaign has reportedly praised National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden, called the United States a "bully" in its treatment of Russia, denounced Sen. John McCain's "blood lust," and slammed Republican policy positions on issues like Iran and the Islamic State (ISIS), the Washington Free Beacon reported Tuesday.
The aide in question, Marianne Copenhaver, also known as "Libertarian Girl," railed against Republicans in a November 2013 Facebook posting.
"Nothing makes me rage harder than the GOP trying to start another god damn war. Listen up you stupid armchair jingoes, we [libertarians, constitutional conservatives, and anti-war dems] want nothing to do with your bullshit special interest fueled wars," she wrote, the Free Beacon reports.
"And to those who listen to the Iran fear mongering on the news and from politicians, just because it’s 2013 does not mean that propaganda doesn’t happen anymore. So keep your drones, and your blind nationalism the rest of the civilized population is done with it," Copenhaver said, the Free Beacon reports.
"Side note. A big f*** you to [Sens.] Lindsey Graham and John McCain."
In December 2013, she blasted another Facebook user who said, "I stand with Israel."
"Then go over there to Israel and fight," Copenhaver replied
, the Free Beacon reports. "You don't get to use the lives of other people because of your irrational allegiance to them."
When Russian separatists in Ukraine shot down a Malaysian airliner last year, the Free Beacon reports she declared
that McCain sought to use the tragedy as a pretext for war because he "will use anything to satisfy his blood lust."
Copenhaver said NSA leaker Edward Snowden "deserves a Nobel Peace Prize NOT President Obama," the Free Beacon reports.
She also defended Russian President Vladimir Putin’s refusal to extradite Snowden to the United States, declaring that America had behaved as a "bully."
This is what happens when the U.S. government "runs around acting like it can control other countries, it’s own citizens, and keeping it’s nose in everyone’s business," Copenhaver wrote
, the Free Beacon reports.
"No one wants to play nice with the bully."
