The political action committee America First Policies is set to begin an ad on Christmas Day showing several people thanking President Donald Trump for the actions he's taken during his presidency, including cutting taxes, fixing the economy and supporting Israel, and wrapping up with a little girl thanking him for "letting us say Merry Christmas again."
The ad is part of a $1 million ad buy from the pro-Trump PAC, and in addition to the child thanking Trump for the Christmas wish, it also includes a dig at NFL players who kneeled during the national anthem this past year, with a man identifying himself as a veteran and thanking the president for "reminding us to stand during our national anthem."
The ad was created by award-winning Jamestown Associates, the firm that was the president's lead ad agency during the 2016 presidential campaign, and shows a group of "everyday Americans" thanking the president for putting America first, keeping their families safe, and more, leading up to the Christmas message.
Jamestown Associates, on its website, says that it is "proud to play a critical role in successfully illustrating, conveying, and delivering President Trump's message to voters across the United States," and notes that the ads it produces "win major industry awards, but most importantly: they win tough fights that others call impossible."
Trump has repeatedly promised supporters that "we're bringing Christmas back" and "we're gonna be saying 'merry Christmas' again," while he was campaigning and in office, notes The Hill.
The president has also slammed former President Barack Obama and wife Michelle in the past and in recent weeks for not wishing the country a merry Christmas while he was in office, a claim MSNBC recently debunked with a compilation video of the Obamas saying "Merry Christmas" on several occasions.
