President Donald Trump took issue on Sunday in a series of tweets with why his agenda continued to be obstructed by the Russian probe into election meddling and charges of collusion with his 2016 campaign. He also blasted fellow Republicans for their lack of support, some of whom he suggested rode his coattails as they won election to office.

Trump has often complained the Russian probe was obscuring the accomplishments of his administration and obstructing his agenda as he worked to fulfill the wishes of the voters who put him into office. He also has failed to gain the support of many lawmakers from his own party.

To better highlight his message, Trump named financier Anthony Scaramucci on Friday to the role of White House communications director. Scaramucci on Sunday told CNN's "State of the Union" he would lead efforts "to defend [Trump] very, very aggressively when there's nonsensical stuff being said about him."
