Last summer President Donald Trump reportedly mulled over possible Democratic challengers he could face when running for re-election in 2020, stating that Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, who ran for president in 2016, would run again "even if he's in a wheelchair."

Trump made the remarks while hosting four Democratic lawmakers, according to one attendee, The Hill reported Saturday. The president was reported to have mimicked an old man in a wheelchair.

Trump also pondered other possible Democratic contenders, the article explained.

"Who is going to run against me in 2020?" Trump asked, according to the source. "Crooked Hillary? Pocahontas?" referring to nicknames he's often given to his 2016 presidential opponent Hillary Clinton and Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Trump has made the Pocahontas reference in describing Warren, who has claimed she was of Native American descent. Warren has criticized Trump for the reference, which he recently used while hosting a ceremony honoring Native American veteran code talkers. She called it "deeply unfortunate that the president of the United States cannot even make it through a ceremony honoring these heroes without having to throw out a racial slur."
