According to a new ABC News/ Washington Post poll released Wednesday, Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton's favorability rating is nearing an all-time low.

Since July, the former secretary of state's favorability rating dropped 7 percentage points with only 45 percent of Americans having a positive view of Clinton. In the same time frame, 53 percent of Americans said that they did not have a favorable view of Clinton, which is an increase of 8 percent.

Politico notes that the numbers are close to Clinton's all-time low, when she took in just 44 percent in the spring of 2008.

According to The Washington Post, Clinton is underwater with core elements of the Democratic base, viewed more negatively than positively by both women and men in the 18-to-39-year-old bracket.

As Clinton's weaknesses are encouraging a possible White House run for Vice President Joe Biden, the ABC News/ Washington Post poll notes that his favorability rating was split at 46 percent.

The poll was conducted by Langer Research Associates via landlines and cellphones from Aug. 26 to 30, surveying a random national sample of 1,005 adults. The overall margin of error is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
