Chris Christie is the most unpopular governor in America, a survey showed Tuesday.

In the Morning Consult Governor Approval rankings, just 25 percent of voters in New Jersey approve of Republican Gov. Christie, while 71 percent disapprove.

In the race to the bottom, Christie has surpassed Kansas GOP Gov. Sam Brownback and Democratic Connecticut Gov. Dan Mallory, both whom tie with 66 percent disapproval among their constituents, the survey found.

Filling out the least-popular 10, are Michigan GOP Gov. Rick Snyder, with 54 percent disapproval; Alaska Independent Gov. Bill Walker, with 53 percent; Oklahoma GOP Gov. Mary Fallin, with 52 percent; Wisconsin GOP Gov. Scott Walker, with 51 percent; Illinois GOP Gov. Bruce Rauner and Maine GOP Gov. Paul LePage, both with 49 percent; and New Mexico GOP Gov. Susana Martinez, with 48 percent.

At the opposite end of the survey, GOP Gov. Charlie Baker of Massachusetts is the most-popular governor in the nation, with 75 percent approval from his constituents, followed by Republican Gov. Larry Hogan of Maryland, with 73 percent approval.

The survey found all 10-most popular governors are Republicans; the rest of the lineup includes North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, with 69 percent approval; Vermont Gov. Phil Scott, with 68 percent; South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard, with 68 percent; Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, with 67 percent; and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval and Utah Gov. Gary Herbert, all with 64 percent; and, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal, with 63 percent approval.

Morning Consult said it surveyed more than 85,000 registered voters in the country via a weekly online national poll that started in January.

According to NJ.com, the new survey mirrors what New Jersey polls have found.

Late last month, Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll found that 72 percent of New Jersey voters disapprove of the job Chrisite is doing, though the 20 percent who said they approved of Christie was a slight improvement from the last FDU poll in January, when just 18 percent gave him the thumbs-up.
