Sixty-one percent of Americans have an unfavorable view of the Republicans' healthcare plan, while 28 percent like it, a new poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation revealed.

The poll shows an increase from June when 55 percent of Americans held an unfavorable view of the plan, compared to 30 percent who liked it.

Here are the highlights from the survey:

  • 60 percent of Republicans like the proposed healthcare bill, while 29 percent view it unfavorably.
  • 7 percent of Democrats view it favorably, while 86 percent do not like it.
  • 28 percent of independents like the bill, while 63 percent don't.
  • 50 percent of all those polled favor Obamacare, while 44 percent do not.
  • 71 percent of those polled say Republicans in Congress should work with Democrats to make improvements to Obamacare, while 23 percent say they should continue working on their own plan to repeal and replace the existing healthcare law.
