Pew Poll: Trump Voters Still 'Very Warm' on President

Americans who voted for President Donald Trump in the 2016 election had about the same level of support for him a year and a half later, according to the results of a new poll.

Key figures in the Pew Research Center survey:

  • 63 percent of Trump voters said in November 2016 they had a "very warm" feeling about Trump, while 24 percent said they had a "somewhat warm" feeling about him.
  • In March 2018, 62 percent of Trump voters had a "very warm" feeling about the president. 20 percent had a "somewhat warm" feeling about him.
  • 88 percent of Americans who voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton had "very cold" feelings about Trump in March.
  • A combined 70 percent of Americans who voted for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson or Green Party candidate Jill Stein had "very cold" feelings about Trump in March.
  • Recent polls show Trump's approval rating is on the rise despite constant pushback from Democrats and negative reporting about his administration in the media.
