Rep. Pete King: 'I Would Not Vote for Roy Moore'

(Fox Business' "Mornings With Maria")

Alabama GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore gave "almost a cavalier answer" to the serious accusations made against him, Rep. Pete King, R-N.Y., said Tuesday while explaining he would not vote for the controversial former state Supreme Court justice.

"I think it's going to be very close," Rep. King told Fox Business' "Mornings With Maria." "I would not vote for Roy Moore, if I was down there. I think he should have given more serious answers to the charges against him . . . the fact that he gave almost a cavalier answer to it to me again raises serious issues."

King said he agrees with Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., who stunned election watchers Sunday by saying he could not vote for Moore "because the state of Alabama deserves better."

President Donald Trump has come out in support of Moore, but King said he believes the president is balancing his options when it comes to choosing the Republican candidate over Democratic contender Doug Jones.
