President Donald Trump needs to be strategic against "spontaneous opportunism" amid his re-election campaign roiled by mass civil unrest fueled by liberal activist groups and now politically charged ex-military generals, according to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

"The candidate, I think, at times, if he would slow down a little bit, and have a little bit more strategy and have a little less spontaneous opportunism, I think he would do better," Gingrich told Sunday's "The Cats Roundtable" on WABC 770 AM-N.Y.

Gingrich lamented what an America will look like with Joe Biden as president, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., as House Speaker, and Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., as Senate Majority leader, pointing to CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone) country forming in Seattle.

"The president will win in the end, but he's going to have to win despite the media's unendingly hostile coverage," Gingrich concluded to host John Catsimatidis.

Gingrich feared the rising unrest in the U.S. and the hostile anti-Trump media fueling it to remove the president have now worked to turn the U.S. military against the leader, pointing to the politicization of the military to take sides for or against Trump.

"I have no problem getting involved in policy, talking about America's future needs, or what we have to do to deal with the Chinese, but when you are directly involved with criticizing a president who's running for re-election, you're really very close to the edge of having the military get involved in politics," Gingrich warned.

He was referring to former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis' campaign for Americans to vote Trump out of office and White House Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley being forced to apologize for walking with the president to the "church of the presidents" after it was set on fire by arsonists and rioting protesters who failed to breach White House security.
