Donald Trump was clearly talking about Carly Fiorina's looks – and not
her persona as he claims – when he made a remark about her face, says the Rolling Stone writer who quoted Trump.
"He was not talking about her persona," Paul Solotaroff said Thursday on
CNN"s "Anderson Cooper 360."
"Trump's expression sours in schoolboy disgust as the camera bores in on Fiorina," wrote Solotaroff. "'Look at that face!" he cries. "Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president? She's a woman, and I'm not s'posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?"
Cooper asked whether any of Trump's people gave an indication that Trump shouldn't have spoken the words.
"You do that with Donald Trump at your own physical peril. Nobody shuts up Donald," Solotaroff said. "He has hired functionaries, those are the people who he surrounds himself with, not strategists."
