Report: Paul Has An 'Anyone-But-Romney' Strategy

Monday, 27 February 2012 07:15 PM

Ron Paul has refrained from attacking rival Mitt Romney during debates, striking out at rivals 39 times in 20 forums but never at the Massachusetts governor, reports ThinkProgress.org.

While the relationship between Paul and Romney is no secret — both men have cultivated a friendship and professional respect — it has become fodder in national news as Rick Santorum's camp accuses the two of working together.

It also is raising questions about what Paul gets out of it.

The report notes that Paul's 'anyone but Romney' strategy includes purchasing ads in Michigan to attack Santorum, although Paul is not actively competing in Michigan.
