Newly re-elected GOP Sen. Pat Toomey said Thursday he's still got some reservations about President-elect Donald Trump — and vows he "will not be a rubber stamp for anyone."

At his Pennsylvania campaign office, Toomey — who won a second term with a narrow two-point win over Democrat Katie McGinty — said he and Republican colleagues plan to look for ways to "relate" to Trump when they return to Washington next week, Philly.com reported

"There will be times when I disagree with Donald Trump," he said. "And when I disagree I will say so. I will not be a rubber stamp for anyone."

During the campaign, Toomey wouldn't say if he'd vote for Trump, asserting he hadn't been persuaded. But after the incumbent cast his vote Tuesday, he said his ballot was for the party nominee to further a conservative agenda, despite his own reservations, Philly.com reported.

Toomey told reporters he hopes Trump will rescind many of President Obama's executive orders and nominate a Supreme Court justice when his term begins, the outlet reported.
