Sen. Orrin Hatch on Thursday night put a beat-down on Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown over his assertion that the Senate's tax bill was a fat tax cut for the rich.

During a Senate Finance Committee hearing, Brown told Hatch to "spare us the sarcasm and the satire" over the chamber's tax bill.

"It would be nice tonight, before we go home, just to acknowledge that this tax cut is not really for the middle class, it's for the rich," Brown told the assembly, directed at Hatch.

The Utah Republican and octogenarian wasn't having it.

"I come from the poor people. And I've been here working my whole stinking career for people who don't have a chance. I really resent anybody saying I'm just doing this for the rich. Give me a break," Hatch shot back at Brown, D-Ohio.

"I think you guys overplay that all the time and it gets old. Frankly, you oughta quit it. I get kind of sick and tired of it," Hatch said.

However, a report from the Joint Committee on Taxation on Thursday released a report showing that under the Senate's plan, tax cuts for the lower class end in 2021 and that by 2027, the tax increases on the lower and middle class drastically increase.

Meanwhile, those making over $100,000 annually enjoy tax cuts over the next decade.

"I get sick and tired of the rich getting richer and richer and richer …" Brown retorted.

"I've honored you by allowing you to spout off here. But what you said was not right. I come from the lower middle class … we didn't have anything. So don't spew that stuff on me. I get a little tired of that crap," Hatch told Brown.
