House Again Votes to Repeal Obamacare

Wednesday, 11 July 2012 09:12 AM EDT

The House of Representatives will vote to repeal President Barack Obama’s healthcare law today just two weeks after a divided Supreme Court upheld the measure. The largely symbolic vote will mark the second time the chamber has sought to overturn the law in full and the 32 time it has voted to cut some or all of the bill since 2011, Fox News reported.

The measure is unlikely to survive the Democratically-controlled Senate and, even if it did, the president would veto it.

“House Republicans promised the American people that if granted the majority, we would repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare,” House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton, R-Mich., said according to Fox. “Let’s face it; Obamacare is nothing like what was promised.”
