By    |   Thursday, 27 June 2013 03:10 PM EDT

While half of all voters view radical Muslims as the top terrorist threat facing the country, those who strongly support President Barack Obama think the tea party is more dangerous, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports survey.

The poll of likely voters found that 51 percent consider radical Muslims the biggest threat to the U.S., 13 percent think the tea party is a bigger threat, and another 13 percent point to political and religious extremists as the greatest danger. Six percent say local militia groups pose the biggest threat and 2 percent cite the Occupy Wall Street movement as the main threat.

Among those who approve of the president's job performance, however, less than a third, 29 percent, think radical Muslims are the biggest threat.

Twenty six percent of his supporters fear the tea party more, and among those who strongly approve of the president, more think the tea party is a greater danger than radical Muslims.

Seventy-five percent of those who disapprove of Obama's performance think radical Muslims are the biggest threat compared to 1 percent who point to the tea party.

The survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted on June 22-23 with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points.
