Republicans have plenty of complaints about President Barack Obama. And various GOP heavies were quick to express them after Obama announced his re-election quest in a web video Monday, Politico reports.

Texas Sen. John Cornyn hammered Obama on the budget. “What we're lacking is presidential leadership on this issue," he told CNN.

"Instead, you see the president really MIA, and you see him planning his announcement for his re-election bid . . . Where are your priorities?" Cornyn added.

Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan criticized Obama over the budget too. "We don't need a good politician; we need a strong leader," he told Fox News.

Likely presidential candidate Mitt Romney took to Twitter to upbraid the president. "@barackobama: I look forward to hearing details on your jobs plan, as are 14m unemployed Americans," he wrote.
