GOP Ad Attacks Celebrity Support for Obama

By    |   Tuesday, 05 June 2012 09:11 AM EDT

The Republican National Committee's latest ad is attacking President Barack Obama's recent celebrity fundraising blitz, according to the Washington Post.

The RNC has released a video ad, called “Meanwhile,” flashing unemployment numbers for different groups under clips from the Obama campaign video along with the tag line: “Obama’s focused on keeping his job. But what about yours?”

The Republican ad implies that the president is more interested in hobnobbing with Hollywood to help his campaign than he is in helping ordinary Americans.

RNC spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski said the video “highlights how out of touch President Obama and his campaign are after releasing a glitzy fundraising video featuring Vogue [editor in] chief Anna Wintour the same day as a dismal jobs report.”

The Obama campaign ad featured Vogue Editor Anna Wintour talking about mingling with “Sex and the City” star Sarah Jessica Parker and first lady Michelle Obama. Last month George Clooney hosted a dinner with 150 guests to support Obama’s re-election.
