Republicans aren’t too happy that it has taken President Barack Obama so long to address the nation’s debt crisis. And they’re making that displeasure known,
The Hill reports.
“This is vintage Obama,” House Majority Leader Eric Cantor told reporters. “He’s been standing on the sidelines expecting the rest of us to make the tough decisions and to lead this country.” House Speaker John Boehner says he has urged Obama for months to get involved on the issue.
Shortly before the president issued his budget speech Wednesday, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy lit into him for scheduling what he called “a sequel” to the White House’s first budget proposal earlier this year. “None of them are better than the original,” McCarthy said.
