President Donald Trump told residents in North Carolina they should vote in-person and by mail to ensure their vote gets counted.

Reporters asked Trump if he has faith in the integrity of the voting system in North Carolina.

“Let them [voters] send it in and let them go vote, and if their system's as good as they say it is, then obviously they won't be able to vote. If it isn't tabulated, they'll be able to vote,” Trump said.

Trump has criticized the mail-in voting system as being susceptible to cheating. The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee have filed suit against multiple states including Nevada, New Jersey and Montana for attempting to expand mail-in balloting due to the coronavirus crisis.

"If it's as good as they say it is then obviously they won't be able to vote. If it isn't tabulated, they'll be able to vote. So that's the way it is. And that's what they should do," Trump added. Voting more than once in the same election is illegal.
