South Carolina loves Nikki Haley — but residents of the Palmetto State don't want to see their governor running for vice president.
According to a
Public Policy Polling survey, 60 percent of South Carolina voters are against Haley pursuing the second-in-command job if asked by the eventual Republican presidential nominee.
Only 22 percent of voters said they would like to see her as the Republican Vice Presidential candidate.
"There's partisan agreement on that front with 68 percent of Democrats, 60 percent of independents, and 52 percent of Republicans saying they don't think she should be the VP choice," the polling service said in a statement.
The survey of 764 South Carolina Republican primary voters also found that nearly 80 percent are against Sen. Lindsey Graham continuing his run for the GOP nomination.
Graham's long-term viability in the race is questionable. In a just-out
New York Times/CBS News poll, he has less than one percent of the vote among Republican primary voters.
