South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has torn into a fellow Republican legislator as a "bully" who's "rude" and "childish" tactics reveal an elected official "gone rogue."

The State
newspaper reports Haley is upset at state Rep. Kirkman Finlay, chair of a South Carolina House panel probing problems in the Palmetto State's Department of Juvenile Justice.

The governor charged Finlay bullied and intimidated employees of the agency during his panel's hearings.

"The idea that you could bully people who are serving, and who are trying to do their job and do the right thing, and intimidate them is just right out childish, and it's rude," Haley said, according to The State.

"It's just unbecoming of a legislator. It's everything we say we don't want in an elected official. It's another example of an elected official gone rogue that thinks he's all powerful, and it's a shame."

Finlay responded: "I'm sorry she feels that way, but I think we're dealing with very difficult issues that are very emotional,"

The agency has recently fired an unspecified number of officers for not doing their job, The State reported.
