Nigel Farage is going to capitalize on being "Mr. Brexit" with a lucrative speaking tour in the U.S. in the new year, a friend told The Daily Telegraph, but denied a report Farage will move permanently to the U.S.

"He is going around to speak about how he sees the movement of what has happened in 2016," the friend told the paper. "People are naturally very interested in the parallels between Brexit and [President-elect Donald] Trump politically, and he is still passionate about the future and what that is likely to look at.

"Spreading the word internationally is something he is very interested in doing – so that is what he is going to do. He is going to lecture."

Farage, whose three-stint tenure as leader of U.K.'s Independence Party ends Monday, can command $10,000-$30,000 per speech, according to The Daily Telegraph, and there are as many as 20 stops on Farage's U.S. speaking tour, including Mississippi, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Cleveland, Los Angeles, and Florida.

Farage will be meeting with Trump's transition team in December, a move that has been deemed undermining to Prime Minister Theresa May. Trump has called for Farage to work as a U.S. ambassador, but a spokesman for May said: "There is no vacancy."

The Daily Telegraph source claimed Farage has privately considered working as a Washington consultant before dismissing the idea for the speaking tour – and the move is just temporary.

"He will be spending a lot of time there, but he is not moving there permanently," the friend told the paper. "He is English to his core."
