Jeb Bush: Obama to Blame for Rise of ISIS

Jeb Bush is in New Hampshire to talk politics, and gamely fielded lingering questions about his position on the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the New Hampshire Union Leader reports.

But he'd really like people to "get over" his family tree.

"I love my mom and dad," the all-but-declared Republican presidential candidate said after a business roundtable in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on Wednesday, the New York Times reports.

"I love my brother, and people are just going to have to get over that. That's just the way it is."

The Times notes the issue keeps dogging the former Florida governor as he deals with how people think his presidency might differ — or mirror — those of his brother George W. Bush and father, George H.W. Bush.

"I have a life journey, my own — one that sets me apart in some ways," he said Wednesday, the Times reports.

Yet he seemed at once annoyed and proud of his bloodline.

"I'm a Bush, I'm proud of it," he declared, adding: "Like, what am I supposed to say?"

Still, he also appeared pleased to be on the stump, telling the New Hampshire crowd, "I really like campaigning" before quickly amending himself: "I'm not a candidate."

The Times reports that he was especially jovial after a pregnant Jackie Burke of Stretton, New Hampshire, told him she'd name her baby Jeb.

"That's so sweet — first time that's ever happened to me," Bush gushed.

Earlier, Bush was still stuck on the topic of Iraq 2003, though he went on the offensive, the Union Leader reports.

"The focus should have been on, knowing what we know now, Mr. President, should you have kept 10,000 troops in Iraq? 15,000? 4,000?" Mr. Bush said, suggesting that President Barack Obama's troop withdrawals helped set the stage for the rise of the Islamic State.

"That's the better answer, because yesterday Ramadi was now taken over by ISIS."

Bush was scheduled to be at a party in Bedford on Wednesday night and to attend another business roundtable Thursday in Concord, followed by a stop in Salem, the Union Leader reported.
