Nancy Pelosi will never be speaker of the House again, even if Democrats win back the lower chamber in the midterm elections in 2018, President Donald Trump's 2016 New York State co-chairman Joe Borelli told Fox & Friends.
"We saw the writing on the wall with some of her members over the last year, saying that she may not be the best thing for their party’s branding, and I thinking were going to see that play out in 2018 regardless," said Borelli, who is a New York City councilman.
Borelli predicted another top Democrat, DNC Chairman Tom Perez, will also meet his demise this year.
"The disaster of 2017 is Tom Perez," Borelli said. "He was supposed to be this uniter, someone who's going to bring together the Obama wing, the Clinton wing of the party and a year later we have a party with no message, no unity and no money. It's over, Tom."
Borelli said, in general, Democrats have a credibility problem.
"This is the mentality of we're all going to die over everything, and we saw that specifically with this tax plan, where they are convincing us that this is for the rich or for big corporations," he said. "Americans are going to see real dollars come February – 50, 60, a hundred dollars in their bank accounts – and they're going to realize that everything the Democrats have told them for the last three months was for naught."
