Murdoch Tweets of Obama's 'October Surprise, Bomb Someplace'

By    |   Friday, 26 October 2012 10:14 PM EDT

Rupert Murdoch is pleased with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney — finally.

“Romney looking better and better while Obama seems devoid of anything new,” the News Corp. founder and CEO tweeted on Friday afternoon. “May try October surprise, bomb someplace! Remember Clinton?”

Murdoch, who owns Fox News, appears to be referring to President Bill Clinton’s order to bomb Iraq the day before his impeachment vote in Congress in 1998, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Urgent Poll: One Week Until Election Day. Obama or Romney?

But it was not clear whether the exclamation point in Murdoch’s tweet was used jokingly or as a prediction that President Barack Obama might order a military strike overseas, the paper says.

While Murdoch’s dislike for Obama is legendary, he also began attacking the Romney campaign over the summer.

“When is Romney going to look like a challenger?” Murdoch tweeted in June. “Seems to play everything safe, make no news except burn off Hispanics.”
