Anthony Scaramucci crafted a communications plan for the White House staff during his short tenure as communications director, Medium reported Wednesday.
Scaramucci was fired Monday for his profanity-laced tirade directed at several members of the Trump administration. He only lasted 10 days in his role but he created a plan during that time to turn the communication team into an aggressive, content based operation.
“Comms needs to be run like a news channel with producers, scripts, and narration,” he wrote in the memo.
Instead of responding to news cycles, Scaramucci believed in creating content.
Referring to the concept as “the refined Roger Ailes theory,” Scaramucci wrote: “We exercise influence over the news cycle because POTUS and the government make news — (i.e. do things on a daily basis that matter). An effective Comms shop will dictate the news of the day on most days.”
Scaramucci listed five priorities in his memo, including: improving the culture, realizing that “POTUS is the number one customer,” making the news and emphasizing the economy.
Regarding the news media, Scaramucci said, “POTUS can choose to fight with the media, but Comms can not.”
