Alaska Republican Joe Miller, the tea party-backed candidate who narrowly lost to Sen. Lisa Murkowski in last year’s election for her seat, has a new gig. He’s going to head a political action committee with close ties to the tea party movement,
Politico reports.

Miller will be chairman of Western Representation PAC. The Nevada-based group is working to “take back our country from the control of special interest groups” and to fight government growth. It raised $401,020 for last year’s elections.
“We are trying to be a significant influence in 2012 and simply an extension of what we saw in 2010,” Miller told ABC News Wednesday. The tea party movement is “going to be bigger — not much question about that — [and] more of a political force to be reckoned with” in 2012, he said.
