Vice President Mike Pence on Wednesday bolstered Jeff Sessions' place in President Donald Trump's administration, saying they're both "proud and honored" to have the attorney general "at our side," the Washington Examiner reported.
Pence addressed Sessions at a forum on crime in D.C. where one day earlier Sessions praised his No. 2 at the Justice Department, Rod Rosenstein.
"Thank you to this attorney general for your leadership at the Department of Justice," Pence told the crowd at the National Summit on Crime Reduction and Public Safety, the Examiner reported.
Pence went on to call Sessions a "law and order attorney general" and said both he and Trump "are proud and honored to have him at our side," the Examiner reported.
Sessions has been a frequent target of rumor mongering that Trump has been unhappy with his performance and was poised to replace him.
