Vice President Mike Pence abruptly canceled an interview scheduled with PBS shortly before it was to occur Wednesday afternoon, an executive producer at the network said on Twitter.
Sara Just, who has served in the position at the "News Hour" program on PBS since 2014, posted this tweet:
No reason for the cancellation was immediately given, The Hill reports.
Pence was to be interviewed by PBS correspondent Miles O'Brien was at Johnson Space Center in Houston, according to the Hill.
The interview also was promoted on the air during Tuesday's broadcast. "News Hour" is hosted by Judy Woodruff.
The cancellation came shortly after the Senate Intelligence Committee posted an opening statement that former FBI Director James Comey plans to deliver in a public hearing before the panel.
In the seven-page remarks, Comey said that Trump asked for his loyalty and to end the FBI's investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn's alleged Russia ties.
