Greg Pence, Vice President Mike Pence's brother, is preparing to launch a campaign for the House of Representatives in Indiana, according to paperwork filed with the Internal Revenue Service.

Rep. Luke Messer, R-Ind., is leaving his House position to run for U.S. Senate, leaving the position open.

Pence, a businessman, would be new to political office, but he has been involved in politics through working with Messer as chairman of his Senate campaign finance committee, according to Politico.

The IRS filing states that "Greg Pence for Congress, Inc." has been created for "a campaign in 2018 for the election of Greg Pence as United States Representative in Indiana," Politico reported.

Vice President Mike Pence held the same position in the House before he became Indiana's governor in 2013.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Pence had not filed with the Federal Elections Commission to formally declare himself a candidate for the position, according to The Indy Channel.
