A pro-Donald Trump super PAC ad is using Michelle Obama's words against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The ad shows the first lady saying in 2007, during her husband's primary fight with Clinton: "One of the important aspects of this race is role-modeling what good families should look like. And my view is, if you can't run your own house, you certainly can't run the White House. You can't do it."
Some believe the remarks were a slap at Bill Clinton's infidelities, although the Obamas insisted at the time that it wasn't.
The ad is being run on digital platforms in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.
The Inquirer says the ad, which earlier ran in Florida, proved so controversial that Clinton campaign lawyers sent "cease and desist" letters to TV stations in Tampa, Orlando and Gainesville ordering them to yank it. The effort did not succeed.
